Our Story...

NZ Manufacturing was set up in 2017 as a rebrand of the Stainless Factory and parent structure for Streetscape, Crystech, and Electrical Box.

It started with The Stainless Factory

Our founding business, The Stainless Factory, was set up in 2004 by brothers Bruce and Richard Lowe who saw the need and opportunity for another specialised stainless steel fabrication facility.

For a long time, a large part of our business was focused on servicing the food and beverage industry in the wider Bay of Plenty region, including Fonterra, Taura Natural Ingredients, Pinto, Comvita, Lovitts, North Island Mussell Processors and local wineries Mills Reef and Morton Estate.

Through the years we have also supplied commercial operators within the building and construction industry, with involvement in Devonport Towers, Kingsview, The Goddards Centre, Food Court and several restaurants and bars.

Introducing Ebox

We manufacture electrical enclosures from standard solutions to custom solutions, primarily stainless steel weatherproof enclosures. We began manufacturing these products in 2007, and have serviced a wide range of industries from food manufacturing to lines companies and meteorological monitoring stations.

Acquiring Streetscape

The acquisition of Streetscape in 2005 extended our manufacturing and delivery to include street furniture and lighting solutions for open space environments. This arm of the business has grown in terms of the range offered, and the number of projects we are involved in.

Launching CrystechNZ

In 2014 we created CrystechNZ to support and supply the honey industry with quality, specialised, and locally designed and manufactured honey hives, extraction and processing plant.

Then came NZ Manufacturing

As it stands, NZ Manufacturing has 35 staff across the 4 divisions. NZ Manufacturing aims to create and maintain long term business partnerships with the organisations we work alongside – and these relationships are built on integrity and our can-do attitude. We have strong industry experience and a high level of expertise, allowing us to come up with innovative solutions to meet the needs of our valued clients. We pride ourselves on our willingness to explore new business opportunities, and change with the times in order to meet the needs of our clients.

Further expansion with Quinn Engineering

In 2024 we purchased Quinn Engineering, based up the road in Kerepehi. This has allowed us to expand our manufacturing plant and product range, moving into new markets with short rise lifts & elevators, and tractor and forklift attachments.
